Merrimack Valley
SELL US YOUR SURPLUS WIRE IN LAWRENCE
Lawrence built its mills along the Merrimack, and much of that brick still stands and still holds wire. We buy unused cable from building owners, contractors and shops in the city.
The mill complexes along the Merrimack and the North Canal hold hundreds of small spaces, and each one has its own electrical history. A landlord upgrading service in a building from the 1890s. A tenant fitting out a floor for manufacturing. A contractor replacing feeders that were undersized for the load. All of them end up with cable they did not use, and most of it is still banded.
We are specific about what we take. New wire on a reel. Part-used wire with the tag readable. Sealed boxes of building wire. Coils of THHN and XHHW-2. Aluminum feeder. MC, tray cable, SOOW cord, fire alarm cable. No equipment and no fixtures: wire and cable only. If a load is mostly one type with a little of another, describe it and we will price it as it sits.
Photos decide it. Shoot the tag square on so footage and gauge can be read. Shoot the jacket print. If the reel is part used, tape the outer wrap and photograph the tape against the wire. Then tell us the floor and the access. In Lawrence that second part matters: a mill door on a canal street is not the same as a rear yard off Broadway.
On pickup day we bring what the building allows. Old mills mean freight elevators, narrow doors, low clearances and no dock, so we often work with a pallet jack and a liftgate and move material in stages. Where a yard or parking area exists we stage there first. Tell us the hours, the gate and who to call, and we will keep the disruption to the floor.

Who we buy from in Lawrence
- Mill building landlords
- Owners of the brick complexes along the Merrimack carry wire between tenants, and much of it is still banded and dated from an earlier job.
- Electrical contractors
- Service upgrades and code work in old buildings leave feeder and grounding conductor that was cut long or never installed.
- Small manufacturers
- Tenants on mill floors buy wire for equipment installs and store the remainder when a layout changes.
- Property managers
- Managers of mixed mill buildings collect odd reels from years of repairs and rarely know which ones are still usable.
Pickup and loading notes
- Mill complexes mean small freight elevators, narrow doors and low clearances, so we measure before we schedule.
- Street loading on canal blocks may need a permit, so the address should come early.
- A yard or parking area on site lets us stage reels before they go on the truck.

Questions
Lawrence questions
Do you buy wire from a landlord doing a service upgrade in a mill?
Yes. Upgrades often leave new feeder and grounding conductor that was cut long or never installed. If it is on the reel, or coiled and labelled with a length, send a photo and we will price it.
Can you work in a building with a small freight elevator?
That is normal in Lawrence. We ask for car size, weight limit and door height, then choose between moving reels whole, spooling them down, or cutting to length on site.
Will you take a mixed load of wire types?
Yes, as long as it is all wire and cable. Mixed loads are priced item by item, so one photo per type plus a rough count gets you a faster answer.
How do I know if my wire is worth collecting?
Send the tag and the jacket print. Copper building wire in usable lengths usually is. Very short cut-offs, corroded reels and unidentified coils often are not, and we say so before anyone drives out.
