URD and USE-2 are outdoor products, so they are usually found outdoors, which is both convenient and a risk. Sun exposure, standing water in the reel, and a jacket that has been nicked during handling all show up in the review. None of it automatically rules the cable out, but it does need to be visible in the photos rather than discovered on the truck.
Most of the surplus in Massachusetts comes from subdivisions and site work where the utility design changed, from commercial parking and lighting packages that were value-engineered, and from contractors who bought a full reel to finish a short run. Sizes from #2 through 4/0 and larger are the common ask, in 2 and 3 conductor constructions.
Send the size, conductor count, metal, voltage rating and remaining footage. A photo of the reel tag plus one of the cut end tells us the construction and the condition. If the reel is still banded and indoors, say so early, because it changes the offer.

Do you buy URD that has been stored outdoors for years?
It gets reviewed. Send photos of the jacket, the reel and the cut end, and note how long it has been outside. Sun-damaged jacket reduces what can be offered.
Is single conductor USE-2 of interest?
Yes, particularly in larger sizes and longer lengths. Single conductor cut lengths under a few hundred feet are harder to place.
Can you pick up large reels without a dock?
Often yes. Tell us the reel weights, the ground surface and whether a forklift or crane is available. The truck and equipment are chosen around that.
