WE BUY SURPLUS CABLE AND WIRE IN GREATER BOSTON

We buy surplus electrical wire and cable from contractors, distributors and facility teams across Greater Boston, and we pick up from your shop or jobsite.

Lab fit-outs and tenant churn drive most of the surplus wire in this region. A build-out that gets value-engineered twice can leave reels of MC cable and THHN ordered for a layout nobody built. When a tenant takes half a floor and the crew re-pulls a run, the leftover sits in a cage until someone needs the space. That is where we come in. We look at what is still banded and tagged, and we make an offer before the next phase starts.

Getting reels out of downtown buildings takes planning. Seaport towers, Longwood medical blocks and Back Bay conversions rarely offer a wide loading dock, and many buildings limit deliveries and removals to early morning. Send the address, the floor and the freight elevator dimensions along with your photos. We schedule the pickup around the building rules and move reels from a cage or service corridor out to the street. Staging space fills fast, so early notice makes the move easier.

Cambridge and the surrounding campuses renovate continuously, so wire turns over in small batches rather than one large lot. We buy partial reels, full reels and unopened coils from contractors, electrical distributors and facility departments. A single pallet is worth a call when the labels are readable. Larger lots from a finished project get a walk-through and a written offer, with the count confirmed reel by reel before anything is loaded.

Condition decides most of the answer. Clean, dry, still-wrapped wire on a labeled reel is the easiest to price. Reels that sat outdoors through a winter, or coils with damaged insulation, get looked at closely and may be declined. We buy wire and cable only, so there is no reason to bundle other building material into a load to make it worth the trip. Tell us what is on the reel and where it sits.

Who we buy from in Greater Boston

Electrical contractors
Crews working tenant fit-outs and service upgrades in Boston and Cambridge often finish a job holding partial reels. We price what is left instead of letting it sit on a shelf until the next project.
Lab and life science builders
Fit-out work in the Seaport and Longwood runs in phases, and each phase can strand cable that the revised layout will not use. Those lots are usually clean and well labeled.
Electrical distributors
Counters around the city stock material for hundreds of small jobs. Slow-moving reels and discontinued lengths take up rack space and are worth a conversation.
Property and facility managers
Building engineers keep spare wire for repairs. When storage tightens, we clear what is no longer needed and leave the rest of the room alone.

Questions

Greater Boston questions

Do you buy partial reels from a single floor of a downtown building?

Yes. A partial reel with a readable tag is enough to start. Send a photo of the label and the length marked on it, plus the building address and where the reel is stored.

Can you work around a building that only allows early morning moves?

Most towers and medical buildings set narrow windows for loading. Tell us the allowed hours and the dock or freight elevator location, and the pickup gets scheduled inside them.

What if the wire was ordered for a lab fit-out that changed?

That is common in Cambridge and the Seaport. Unused cable from a revised layout is usually the easiest lot to price, especially when it is still banded and the print on the jacket is clear.

Do you travel outside the city core?

We cover the whole region, from Chelsea and Everett out to Brookline and Milton. One trip can take in several towns when the reels are staged and ready.
