WE BUY SURPLUS CABLE AND WIRE ON THE SOUTH SHORE

We buy surplus electrical wire and cable from contractors and businesses along the Route 3 corridor and the South Shore waterfront.

Building along Route 3 has been steady for years, and steady building leaves steady leftovers. Subdivisions in Plymouth and Kingston, new commercial shells in Rockland and Hanover and rebuilds near the water all generate short ends and partial reels. When a job closes out, the material ordered for the last thousand feet tends to stay on the shelf. We buy it before it becomes clutter in the back of a shop, and we take the whole lot rather than picking through it.

Quincy and Weymouth have been rebuilding dense older neighborhoods block by block. That work mixes demolition with new construction on tight lots, and the wire coming out ranges from service cable to old armored runs. Anything pulled from a wall gets inspected for damage before it is priced. Clean, dry, unused material is what carries value. Wire that has been in a wet basement for a decade usually does not, and we say so on the spot.

Hingham, Cohasset and Scituate add a marine layer: yards, docks and waterfront homes that get rewired on a seasonal clock. Shore-side work often uses direct burial and marine cable, and leftover lengths from one season may sit until the next. Storm repair along the coast produces both sudden demand and sudden surplus. A yard that bought heavy for a repair job in March may be holding reels it cannot use in June.

Route 3 is the spine, with Route 53 and Route 18 filling in the towns closer to the water. Pickups south of Quincy can run long in summer, so we group stops by town and try to reach the outer towns early in the day. Off-season scheduling is easier, especially for anything near the beach, and a winter call is simpler to arrange.

Who we buy from in South Shore

Electrical contractors
Residential and light commercial crews here run several jobs at once. Leftover reels from a closed project are the most common call we get.
Home builders and remodelers
New subdivisions and teardown rebuilds both leave wire behind. We take short ends and opened coils when the jacket is clean.
Waterfront and marine trades
Docks, yards and shore-side homes use direct burial and marine cable. Leftover lengths from a seasonal job often sit until the next spring.
Commercial property owners
Plaza and office landlords along Route 3 keep spare cable between tenants. Storage space is the usual reason they call.

Pickup and loading notes

Questions

South Shore questions

Do you buy wire left over from a completed subdivision?

Yes. Closeout material from residential work is common here, and partial reels of NM cable and service wire are worth pricing. Send the lengths and we will tell you what we can take.

Will you take wire pulled out of an older coastal home?

We will look at it, but pulled wire is judged strictly on condition. Corrosion and brittle insulation are the usual reasons a lot gets declined.

Do you buy well pump and direct burial cable?

We do. Unused submersible pump cable and URD are regular items on the South Shore, especially from properties with outbuildings or long driveway runs.

How far south do you go?

We travel the full Route 3 corridor through Plymouth and Kingston, and we can continue to Sagamore when a lot justifies the trip.

Reels in South Shore?

Send the material details and photos. We will confirm whether it is a fit and what it is worth before any pickup is scheduled.
