Control and instrumentation cable

WE BUY SURPLUS CONTROL AND INSTRUMENTATION CABLE

Control and instrumentation cable carries the specification, the shield type and the pair count that make a surplus reel valuable or ordinary. We review unused control, PLTC and shielded cable from Massachusetts plants and integrators.

Control and instrumentation cable we buy from Massachusetts businesses

  • Control cable, multi-conductor, shielded and unshielded
  • Instrumentation cable and thermocouple extension wire
  • PLTC and ITC tray cable
  • Multi-pair and multi-triad cable
  • Overall shielded and individually shielded constructions
  • Signal, communication and low-capacitance cable

This is the most specification-sensitive category on the site. A 12 conductor control cable with an overall shield is a different product from an 18 AWG multi-pair instrumentation cable with individual shields, even when both are black and round. The jacket legend and the reel tag carry the whole answer, so photograph them closely.

Surplus in Massachusetts tends to come from system integrators and panel shops that over-bought for a controls upgrade, from pharma and biotech facilities after a skid was replaced, and from water and wastewater contractors whose I/O schedule changed. Pair counts and shield constructions that are no longer used are common, and still worth offering.

Send the pair or conductor count, the gauge, the shield type, the voltage rating and the footage. If the reel is a factory put-up with the tag attached, say so, because full factory lengths are the easiest to place.

Specification details we read from the cable

Control cable is bought against a bill of materials, so the closer the submitted details match a spec sheet, the faster the review.

  • Conductor or pair count, and gauge
  • Shield type: overall foil, braid, individually shielded
  • Voltage rating and temperature rating
  • Jacket type and whether it is tray rated
  • Factory length or remaining footage

We buy from across the state, including every Massachusetts region, and review material against the same standard whether it is one reel or a warehouse shelf.

Questions

Control and instrumentation cable questions

Do you buy instrumentation cable with a discontinued shield construction?

It is reviewed. Some obsolete constructions still have buyers in maintenance and retrofit work. Send the legend and the footage and the answer will be specific.

Are short lengths of control cable useful?

Panel shops sometimes want them, but the volume is low. Group short lengths with full reels so the lot is worth handling.

How do I identify cable when the tag is gone?

Photograph the jacket print along its length and a stripped end showing the conductor and shield. A measuring photo next to a tape helps confirm the gauge.

Reels sitting in the yard? Get them priced.

Send the wire type, size and a few photos. We will review the material and tell you what it is worth before anything moves.
